Llanberis bus
Don't get me wrong; I don't romanticise about all this country life. The limited public amenities and parochial attitudes (probably harbouring most white man phobias) would be difficult for me. However, watching the bus driver drop each passenger exactly where they wanted, even if it meant a slight detour, was alien to me. He even asked where I was going, got advice from another passenger and then dropped us off at the guest house. Okay the journey took at hour to cover what is normally a 20 minute trip, but I didn't feel the trauma of a London bus.
The view was an added bonus.
Of course, after all this, we might get a cab on the return journey.
