Day 2: Empire State

We started our second day with an early entrance to the Empire State building to beat all the queues. We made it on time and didn't have to wait long. Inside, we did the New York Skyride first which came free with our pass and I had been warned by online reviews that it was horrendous and we had to agree. It's now 20 years old and showing it's age. Given the quality of animation nowadays, to still send people into this creaking, blurry, poorly synchronized simulator is shameful. We were glad it was over and then made our way up the numerous checkpoints to reach the 86th floor observatory where our cameras were busy snapping the spectacular views, alongside by now very busy crowds. Two skyscrapers in two days. It might have been better to space it out but we had to time it with the rest of our busy schedule.
