Bergen fish market

Out from the hotel our first stop was a street market selling reindeer hides and what looked like ferret skins tied together and strung up beside Michael Jackson t-shirts and little Norwegian trinkets. We took a load of photos because they were free. Next was Bergen fish market which had what seemed like an endless supply of stalls piled high with prawns, crab, lobster, caviar and...wait for it...whale. Yes, whale steak, whale burger, smoked whale and even whale on a stick. But, despite the enormous prices it all looked more and more appetizing the more we focused our macro lenses on the glistening crustaceans. Eventually we settled on some smoked salmon soaked in cognac and a baguette the length of my arm filled with prawns, smoked salmon and crab. We tore at it with our teeth from opposite ends.
