Voss to Gudvangen
At the town of Voss we joined a scrum-like rush of passengers jostling for a place on the buses to Gudvangen. A good portion of the crowd we're Japanese and the stereotype of submissive politeness was blown out the fjords. However we were able to weave a way close to the front with decent seats. We had no idea what to expect as the bus started out but as we crossed a range of mountains and then began the steep and winding descent to the base of the fjord the views were the most impressive so far. In all the excitement I'd even forgotten to turn on my camcorder and instead recorded the floor for some of the journey, but it was a small loss in the midst of stunning natural beauty and under a sumptuous blue sky that had followed us from Bergen.
