Von Krahl, Tallinn
After walking through the streets around the old town square disappointed by the overpriced tacky eateries that filled the cobblestone paths with their seats and waiting staff dressed in medieval garb we finally settled on a restaurant recommended in my guidebook, Von Krahl. It was listed as budget but while the price was half of its neighbours the quality was stunning. We only ordered light but everything was refined and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the long day had taken it's toll on my stomach but I persevered. And it was worth it. We hope to return. It was lucky we'd got a table as most people were turned away for not booking but we were given a table immediately. After paying I wondered if they'd undercharged! Definitely recommended. And I should add that everything was labelled for various diet restrictions including lactose intolerance. I had chocolate cake with soya ice cream. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel to get some rest. It's been a long day.
