Brussels
Not much to say about the Eurostar journey. We had a table for the three of us and an unfortunate young French women stuck in the corner. She looked a little uncomfortable with these three foreigners surrounding her. But the journey was peaceful and quick.
In Brussels however we went to collect our hire car and lost two hours over complications with our journey that includes the Czech Republic. They say their insurance does not cover the country and the car may be impounded. We have to pay a 50% premium on the hire fee to cover this. We argue about it and look elsewhere but still they are cheaper than the competition so we eventually have to acquiesce. Shit happens.
Our car is a Berlingo. We throw in our bags and begin the two hour drive to Luxembourg. Oh but before we leave we have to buy a motorway tax for Switzerland. Oh well.
We don't see much of Brussels. It's just a load of roads and motorways. Not time to stop.
