The Bock

Luxembourg is a city in two levels cut in half by long escarpment or cliff that became a natural defence from neighboring armies. It made an impenetrable barrier. Nowadays it offers stunning scenery with a series of battlements, arches and grand towers. In fact it was first built around 963 as Lucilinburhuc which later became the modern Luxembourg. The wars continued for 900 years and only ended in the 19th century.
