Luxembourg
We finally crossed our third border today (after France and Belgium) but by now it was dark. The sun had set behind us and there was nothing ahead but tarmac and a few lights. Travelling by public transport you are immediately confronted with a city. It's unavoidable. In a car it's easy to miss. Maybe too easy. But this journey would be impossible without a car.
We arrive at the hotel at 11pm and are welcomed by a lovely receptionist who tells us tomorrow is a festival in the city. It sounds like a plan. But we're keen to get to bed asap. Our holiday begins tomorrow.
