And then the moment came. It seemed a long time coming especially with the dark ring of cloud which I assumed was pollution. But it added to the colourful display as the light dipped quite early. The sun eventually dipped behind the mountains and I frantically clicked the button trying out exposures on my small compact camera. It was a relief we'd found a clear view. It was a relief for others we were so short.
