Tower of the Winds
Ok back to the Roman Forum. I was saying we had low expectations. Well that was all cast aside when we saw this tower. It was possibly built in the first century as a sundial and watercolour. What's so stunning is that it's survived intact over all these years. Possibly thanks to being used as a church for much of its life. For me the most stunning feature is the perfectly entact marble roof. The Roman Forum turned from being a decent archeological site to containing one of the most impressive buildings I've seen from antiquity. What a win.
