The whole monastery complex has 2,673 windows. Obviously not all as impressive as this one. Our tour continued after the library to the King's quarters and the Bourbon Palace and mausoleum. The quarters were actually very modest although he did arrange his bed so he could see the altar of the Basilica on one side and the mountains on the other. He died in that bed. The crypt full of sarcophagus of kings and queens was very elaborate with plenty of marble and bronze. Quite different from the equivalent in the Vienna Cathedral where it was dark and cold and the space shared with 1000s of plague victims' bones.
