Cervantes

Facing off with the Edificio Espana is a colossal monument to Cervantes, Spain's own Shakespeare, and then some, as the inventor of the modern novel. The monument easily stands up to the skyscraper. The bronze of Don Quixote is on the opposite side with his faithful Sancho Panza. Rising out of his head is the Torre de Espana, which doesn't look so bad now I see the photo against the blue sky. Wet find a seat in the shade of trees and rest our feet. And plan our next move, as the day was now completely open.
