The Prado

If you come to Madrid you have to do the Prado. It's Madrid's Louvre or the Vatican or the Met. But we'd done their MOMA and the idea of walking round this Gargantua did not appeal to either of us, despite the collections inside. So this is as close as we got. Also the queues were lengthy possibly because we'd arrived at the only two hour slot each week when entry is free. I love the way gaps in the queue form where the sun breaks the shade. Crowds have some sense. We move on. Nevertheless it's a beautiful building and worthy of Spain's status in world culture.
