Algebra

While the Greeks, for all their remarkable genius, were struggled with zeros and the Romans tied themselves up with primitive numerals the Arabs had adopted our present day numerals from the Hindus perhaps a few centuries before conquering Iberia. They were very accomplished mathematicians. And while the Europeans would go on to use that maths to produce wonders as great as the atomic bomb the Arabs were blown away by the divinity they saw in patterns and hence the extraordinary range of geometric designs and complex repeating patterns. This pattern is not childsplay. It gives the impression of infinity and hence of God. In this palace and in other areas the geometric design is intrinsic now to Iberian culture.
