Old and new
We spent a while walking in and around the old town, which is basically the Roman palace complex kept alive for 100s of years. You can clearly see here how Roman features remain among modern shops and apartments. It's almost as if the town planner forgot to tell the builders to remove the old as they built the new. They've already been here this long I wonder how many more centuries they'll still be standing. Perhaps they'll replace the new with new new and still keep the old old. You can't help but stare at it and think someone had screwed up. But to all our benefit.
