The bell tower

We like our towers and what was once the mausoleum is now a cathedral with a tall bell tower overlooking the city of Split and surrounding mountains. The steps up began narrow but soon became metal steps bolted to the wall. They felt safe but their open style clearly terrified one tourist who turned back half way up. The top was packed with tourists and we were careful not to fall down the stairwell to our deaths below. We took turns with other tourists to take photos from each opening for a full 360 degree view.
