Roman alleys

It's not just the outside and the big buildings where old and new are fused together. The narrow alleyways are also criss-crossed by Roman features with the almost modern built within. This would have made a wonderful Dr Who set where time and space had somehow got muddled or perhaps two dimensions had crashed into each other.

But enough. I could go on forever about how weird this place is. Weird but beautiful.
