Birds in paradise

We arrive back at our transport but the other half have not yet returned, so while the team huddle in the car for some warmth I wait beside a little rock pool and very still I watch these tiny sparrows gather round for a rare treat in this arid landscape. The longer I wait the more they arrive. We don't get to see many of the land species here, they're normally long gone before our petrol engine has arrived. But birds we see everywhere. Getting this close is a rare treat.
