Oryx at the water hole

After the game count, but before we return, we visit some camera traps to change batteries and memory cards. By this water hole there's a large carcass, I'm assuming another oryx eaten dry by the weather and carnivores. The little black dots everywhere is actually poo. This place will be teeming with animals throughout the day, as we see on the trap photos.

Then it's back to the car again to return to our camp for lunch and to input the data into spreadsheets. During the game count we take it in turns to right down each animal we spots, it's distance, it's age (adult, child), it's gender and the trajectory from our path. It all goes together to approximate the presence of game over time.
