Bush versus car

This photo captures well the landscape around us. A bush, a car and then everything else. As ever it's just a lone bush surviving the hostile environment. They do have forests in the north of Namibia but down here this is about as overgrown as it gets, especially this much further south than our previous camps.

This second image seems to capture even more the Martian like landscape. No need to travel 40 million miles and terraform another planet. You have it right here. In fact I wonder how this million year old landscape would fare with global warming. Is it under threat like any other or will it persist as ever, oblivious to the destruction we're sowing elsewhere. Maybe elsewhere will eventually become a bit more like this. Is that all bad?
