The long walk home

The walk back to the car can sometimes be the best part of the hike, not just because the stress of finding tracks will have passed or the precarious scramble over rocks is behind us, but it's a chance to take in the scenery and get some photos. Everyone is more relaxed and we['re looking forward to lunch.

It's those two little mountains again. We see them almost every day, each time from a different angle and among a different coloured landscape. It's almost too easy to paint a watercolour here. But there's no point. Eventually our ride comes into view and shortly we'll be huddled up inside, some of us perhaps taking a nap on the drive back.
