Game count

After breakfast we're back in the 4x4 for another 2 hour drive around part of the property, to count game. One of the first we spot is this flock of ostriches together with babies. In this photo, although small, they are quite distinct. When we first see them they really are barely distinguishable from the bushes in the distance. We are all particularly excited to see the babies. And then some springbok, this time also in a group, as so often we've seen them alone.

Note that these photos as taken at the long end of a long lens, with an extender and on a senor that itself enlarges. We're talking about 400mm. To the taken eye this is all just specks and I see nothing without the camera.
