The dead tree

Very common to this landscape is also the dead tree. These stunning, scorched corpses stand like charcoal sculptures petrified for decades or maybe even hundreds of years. No doubt many of these will become fossiled in the soil for millions of years. This landscape hasn't changed much in the past few million - don't expect much to happen in the next.
