Dead end marsh
This satellite image clearly show both our starting point, that collection of hearts in the bottom right, which represents that hike we did on our first and second days and then the drainage basin that forms the Sossusvlei. The name comes from sossos, a local word meaning dead end and vlei, which is Afrikaans for marsh or lake. A name that very well suits its position here on the satellite image. The Atlantic coast is in the top left.
