Scratching posts

We all might be used to the scratching posts at home for our pets but out here they are taken more seriously. A marking tree, as they are known, is another way of identifying the presence of big cats and out here it's the leopard. Opposite this tree they have placed a camera trap. It's an old marking tree but they are hoping the leopard might return one day. What you might notice is how large this tree is. So far, most trees we see are feeble-looking bushes. Thick trunks really stand out here. And the same logic goes for the cats.
