Pups and pics

The farmer and two large and very excited labradors come out to greet us. It's quite a commotion as the dogs hurl their huge bodies around like young puppies. With plenty of dog lovers in our group we all share in the excitement. Inside we get to see the new litter. One of the labradors, the mother, returns to her pups and we all get out our phones to take some snaps. Doug is adamant he will get one to take back (in the future). Before we leave the farmer has a look through some of the memory cards from the camera traps and take some copies. He scans through them at a much faster pace then when we're organising them and he moans about the baboons that are present everywhere and cost him $10,000s in damages when they rip apart his equipment. Round here they are pests. But in among the thousands of photos he catches site of the rhino. I don't include the photo here because it's a real worry for people here and the farmer makes it very clear he is worried that poachers could easily cause trouble.
