Boulevard Unirii

Facing the palace is Boulevard Unirii, a rather unremarkable street apart from the long series of fountains performing water acrobatics. Alongside the fountains are a series of shops which look new but largely deserted and plenty of park benches with men sleeping. It's difficult to tell if they're homeless or taking a break from work. All around we must cross roads and here in Bucharest pedestrian crossings make little sense as cars seem to go as they like. You have to keep your wits about you even if you have the green man.
