The quiet ride to Sinaia

It's no longer anything profound to say we live our lives on our phones it's just the plain truth. So when they are gone we are lost. The loss is not just loss of access but also what has been taken. We have to deal with all these thoughts, in virtual silence, as we make the 90 minute ride to Sinaia, barely noticing the beautiful scenery around us, as it transforms from the plains around Bucharest to the mountains of Transylvania. I feel awful at how awful Katarina must be feeling. And it's times like this that she'd have her phone to share those feelings with friends. It's almost doubly painful. I don't know what the passengers must have thought opposite us, so close, as we stew for the rest of the journey.
