Walk to nowhere

We leave the castle without thinking where we we're going and just follow the general flow of people down the hill. It was only 20 minutes later we realise we've gone the wrong way but persevere in the hope of finding a way back to the hotel. After another 20 minutes we give up and head back. Despite being so close to the castle we waste 90 minutes in the hot sun walking nowhere and came back to where we started. But at least we got some better views of the whole castle from down below.
