Race to the bottom

Obviously the route down was a fraction of the effort of our ascent. But it was much more dangerous with the uneven and loose surface frequently slipping order us. Nevertheless it was almost at running pace in parts, just desperate to see the back if these endless steps. Near the bottom I could only laugh inside when someone called to her friend and said the journey up looked like it could be long one. It was quite an effort getting here and it amazes me how much effort we go through to cause ourselves pain.
