Balkan hard shoulder

As we learnt in Croatia, drivers make good use of the hard shoulder in these parts. Even our own driver made a good few manoeuvres that raised an eyebrow and a laugh. Some cars were even driving on the grass to overtake, as can be seen in this photo. Ultimately it does benefit everyone as the traffic keeps moving. I have no idea of the accident rate here.
