The Republic of Bulgaria

An hour later than scheduled we arrived at the border as it turned dark. I was so relieved there was almost no queue. It could have been a different story on another day of the week. We handed over our passports only briefly as we left Serbia but at Bulgaria we had to leave the coach entirely and show our passports individually before we were allowed to pass. They asked Katarina questions about our itinerary and I had to jump in to explain. But it was again quick and hardly any fuss at all. We're back in the EU.
