Belgrade architecture

I wish I knew a load of terms to impress you with but sadly I don't have a memory for that sort of knowledge. In any case here is a fairly typical ornate style that adorns some buildings. But far from the majority. Belgrade isn't the prettiest of capitals that we've visited and the architecture is a much greater range of old and new (I'm speculating some was destroyed during WWII). It's also not the best maintained and is a little grimy in many parts. But the castle (Old Belgrade) was well preserved despite the unusual health and safety warning. Belgrade is certainly not a place you wander round as a naive tourist marvelling at the architecture. But again I don't want to put it down too much. Even Budapest didn't offer the view of the Danube we got yesterday. And we didn't have much time. And should I add it's probably the cheapest capital we've visited of them all.
